Orthodontics is a dental specialty dedicated to the correction of bad postures of the jaws (dentofacial orthopedics, or DFO) and teeth (orthodontics) in order to optimize the postural balance between the bony structures (phases of physiological rest of the muscles ), occlusion (reflex dental meshing), as well as the development of the bony bases for functional and aesthetic purposes.
